✅ NOTES
- Use real mayonnaise, not Miracle Whip.
We’re starting off with cream cheese and adding sour cream and real mayonnaise for a creamy base.
Then we’re adding all our favorite BLT fixings – lots of crumbled bacon and tomatoes.
You can top yours with lettuce if you desire so that it’s an authentic BLT, but I prefer to leave the lettuce off of mine.
We love to serve this easy dip in a Football-shaped Bread Bowl for a festive appetizer at our Game Day parties.
My first tip is to let the cream cheese soften before mixing together the base for this easy cheesy dip.
You can let the block of cream cheese sit on the counter for 30 minutes to an hour until it is soft enough to mix easily.
I prefer to take the cream cheese out of the box but leave it in the wrapper, but either way will work if you have plenty of time.
If you’re in a hurry, you can speed things up in the microwave.
Remove the cream cheese from the foil wrapper and place it in a microwave-safe bowl.
Heat the cream cheese on the defrost setting for 20-30 seconds until it is soft enough to mix easily.
You can also through the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise into a blender or use a hand mixer to blend until smooth.
By the time the other ingredients are added and the dip is fully baked, you will never be able to tell the difference.
I know that not everyone loves real mayonnaise, but this is not the recipe to try to substitute Miracle Whip for the mayonnaise.
If you’ve been hurt by mayonnaise in the past, try using a good high-quality mayonnaise like Hellmann’s brand.
Sometimes there is a big difference in product quality between brands and I think mayonnaise is no exception.
I like Hellmann’s mayonnaise quite a lot or the Duke’s brand is good as well.
Mix the mayonnaise together with the softened cream cheese and the sour cream for a classic BLT flavor.
One easy tip for the best BLT dip ever is to make sure your bacon is cooked up nice and crispy.
This is not the recipe for using limp and soggy bacon.
If you struggle to cook crispy bacon and you have an air fryer, try this easy Air Fryer Bacon recipe.
This is one of my favorite methods to cook bacon because it contains all the mess and grease splatter.
After the bacon is cooked and thoroughly drained, crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
You can also use a sharp knife to chop the bacon up.
Be sure to cook extra bacon to sprinkle on top of your BLT Dip.
I also like to add some additional diced tomatoes on top of the dip.
And you can add lettuce too if you prefer.
