Secretlab has become a household name in the world of gaming chairs, famed for producing high-quality gaming chairs with premium features at all price points, and that looks to continue with the company’s 2020 line-up. While on the surface, it may look like nothing has changed, the updated Secretlab Titan 2020 offers a range of small changes that elevate the already premium experience offered by the 2018 variant.
We’ve spent a lot of time sat in the Secretlab Titan 2020, and here’s what we think.
Pricing And Availability
The Secretlab Titan isn’t exactly a budget gaming chair at £349/$399, but we think the premium materials and design make the Titan worth the extra bit of money when compared to the sea of £200/$250-ish gaming chairs on the market. The chair is available in Stealth, Black, Amber, Classic and Ash.
Those that aren’t a fan of the PU leather employed by the standard Titan 2020 can opt for the SoftWeave Fabric option at £379/$429. Though we haven’t tested it ourselves, the inclusion of fabric instead of PU leather should provide a more breathable and comfortable experience, but at a cost of maintenance. The SoftWeave variant is available in fewer colour options too, with a choice of either Cookies & Cream and Charcoal Blue on the Secretlab website.

The headline upgrade with the Secretlab Titan 2020 is the material; while it still uses PU leather like the original, it has had an upgrade. Secretlab calls it Prime 2.0 PU leather, and claims that it’s around four times as durable as standard PU leather while also outperforming the competition in terms of flexing and abrasion resistance.
While we don’t really want to destroy the Titan unnecessarily, we can confirm that after around two months of use, there’s not a mark, scratch or tear anywhere on the chair.
The upgraded Prime 2.0 PU leather is also somehow even softer to the touch than the original, which contributes to the premium experience on offer from the Titan 2020.
Of course, a gaming chair wouldn’t be a gaming chair without comfortable padding, and the Titan 2020 excels in that area too. Beneath the Prime 2.0 PU leather, you’ll find Secretlab’s signature cold-cure foam. The company’s patent-pending manufacturing process and mix procedure are different from those employed by other gaming chair manufacturers, and Secretlab claims this provides a much more consistent and highly-durable firmness that provides comfort and support.
That’s something we can attest to after spending a lot of time sitting in the Titan 2020, and it’s especially noticeable when you first sit down and feel your body being absorbed by the chair. But despite moulding to the shape of your body, the cold-cure foam does an impressive job at returning to its original shape within moments.
That focus on durability is reflected in the warranty of the Secretlab Titan 2020, which comes with a five-year warranty - up from two years on previous products - to protect against potential long-term manufacturing issues.
The armrests are another area of the chair that has been improved in the 2020 variant, both in terms of design and the materials used. While it wasn’t necessarily bad on the 2018 variant, the experience wasn’t perfect and, at times, the adjustment felt a little janky.
Of course, that’s all that’s new with the Secretlab Titan 2020 – the chair still sports the same comfortable bucket-seat design with built-in adjustable lumbar support, full-length recline, impossibly soft headrest pillow and a wide range of adjustments.
More specifically, the Titan offers between 85- and 165-degrees of tilt, and when combined with a lockable multi-tilt mechanism and a wide 70cm wheelbase, you’re secure no matter what position you feel most comfortable in. In terms of height and weight restrictions, the long 84cm backrest can accommodate those up to 200cm (6ft 6in to those in the UK) and up to 130kg, although this can vary slightly depending on body proportion.
Verdict
For the price, the Secretlab Titan 2020 provides a truly premium gaming chair experience with comfortable cold-cure foam, soft-to-the-touch Prime 2.0 PU leather and a range of adjustments to find the perfect angle for your body.
The inclusion of high-end features like integrated adjustable lumbar support, full-length recline and a Class 4 Hydraulic system elevates the Titan 2020 above the competition, with only chairs literally double the price able to offer anything better.
