Chocolate Marshmallow Fondue is super simple and a real crowd-pleaser.

Your dippers are only limited by your imagination.

At the end of this post, we have a shopping list with lots of chocolate fondue dipper options to try.
Chocolate Marshmallow Fondue
KEY TO SUCCESS #1 – USE HIGH-QUALITY CHOCOLATE
I like using Ghirardelli Bittersweet Chocolate Chips in this fondue recipe.

They have a fantastic deep chocolate flavor and melt very well in this recipe.

You can use another brand of semi-sweet chocolate chips if you have them on hand.

I have used Nestle Toll House Semi-sweet chocolate chips in this fondue recipe and it worked well.

KEY TO SUCCESS #2 – MELT ON LOW HEAT
When I make fondue, I use a Cuisinart Electric Fondue Maker.

It is great for both heating the fondue as well as serving.

To make the chocolate fondue, add in the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, marshmallow creme, and milk.

Heat the chocolate mixture over medium-low heat, stirring frequently.

On my fondue pot, I use setting 3 or 4.

If you are making fondue on the stove, use medium-low heat.

Stir the chocolate constantly until the chocolate is fully melted and the fondue is smooth.

You can add a little more milk if the chocolate is too thick.

When the fondue is melted and smooth, stir in a little vanilla extract to finish it off.

KEY TO SUCCESS #3 – SERVE FUN DIPPERS
There are so many good dipper options for chocolate fondue!

You can do fresh fruit like banana slices, strawberries, raspberries, or pineapple chunks.

Homemade or store-bought cakes and brownies are always a favorite at our house.

My daughter, Emily, loves cubes of Rice Krispie Treats.

You can make your own or buy pre-packaged treats.

One of my personal favorites is marshmallows.

We like regular large marshmallows and the Yummalo TwistMix Marshmallows that we recently found at Wal-mart.

They are a lot like Peeps in that they are coated with sugar.

They also come in other shapes and flavors.

You are only limited by what you can find at your store and your imagination.

KEY TO SUCCESS #4 – LET’S TALK FONDUE SERVING
Fondue is easy to serve, but there are a few tips that will make things flow smoother.

If you are serving fondue at a counter where people are standing and mingling, you can pile your dippers onto a board and let people move around to get the dippers that they want.

If you are serving fondue at a table setting, people are not as apt to reach the dippers that they want.

Instead of using one big dipper tray, try using small tapas plates or appetizer plates.

This way, you can pass the dipper plates around and people can grab what they want.

Another great tip is to get extra fondue forks.

You can get an extra full set of forks in case one gets dirty and someone needs a new one.

KEY TO SUCCESS #6 – DON’T LOSE THE LEFTOVERS
The leftover chocolate fondue can be refrigerated and reheated another night.

Or you can make truffles out of the cold chocolate.

Dip the cold chocolate fondue by spoonfuls and roll into finely chopped nuts or cocoa powder.

So good!
