We’re going to save some steps by starting with a butter recipe cake mix from the baking aisle of your local grocery store.
If you can’t find the butter recipe cake mix, you can use a yellow cake mix.
I don’t know what it is about the a cake mix but they bake up so light and fluffy every time.
With that soft texture, it’s the perfect base to our Almond Pound Cake.
Cream Cheese makes this Almond Pound Cake batter so thick and rich.
It adds a lot of moisture and makes the cake a little more dense than a typical cake mix.
Make sure the cream cheese is room temperature before you mix up your Almond Pound Cake.
If your cream cheese is still cold, you can microwave it on the defrost setting for a minute or so until it’s room temperature.
Make sure the cream cheese is not melted though.
I like to use both almond extract and a little vanilla extract in my Almond Pound Cake.
It adds a nice depth of flavor to the cake.
I usually use two teaspoons of almond extract but you can use more if you’re feeling adventurous.
A Bundt pan is the perfect pan for this almond pound cake.
You can find Bundt pans with a variety of designs on them and any of them will work great with this recipe.
If you don’t have a Bundt pan, you can use a round tube pan like what you would use for an Angel Food Cake.
